The Piedmont Community Learning Academy (MPower Summer Program 2014) will be performing a PCLA Summer Musical, June 26th at 5:30 p.m., in the Piedmont Elementary School Cafeteria. We would like to invite all parents, community members, and advisory committee members to come share as well as celebrate our theme, “Still I’ll Rise,” a tribute theme to Maya Angelo.

Students have worked hard this summer understanding and participating in classes consisting of Character Education, Nutrition Awareness, Mentoring, Robotics, Music, Science, and Art Appreciation, along with educational and exciting field trips. Students also had the opportunity to understand that it is not only important to eat nutritiously, but to exercise, as they participated in Health and Wellness Aerobics and Dance Classes. Also in dance our ballet students participated in the production of “Peter Pan,” at Jacksonville State University.

As always, one of our most important goals is to improve student learning. Therefore students continued their individual designed learning path this summer in reading and math through the eSpark, iStation, and Classworks programs, as well as other technology programs in a blended classroom.

We are proud of all our students this summer and have enjoyed them. Please celebrate with us on June 26th, and together celebrate our theme, “Still I’ll Rise.”

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing all our parents on June 26th.
